I am looking for a birth record for Lewis W Hostetter, b. 7 May 1854 in Jamestown, IN, d. 9 Feb 1947 in Speedway, IN, son of Sherman Hostetter and Mary Ann Byrd. There is a marriage record available online (m. Anna Harting 30 Sep 1884) as well as a death certificate but no birth record so far that I have been able to find.

Searching for a death record and other information for Isabel Hedge Leach, first wife of Willis Leach; born ~1842 IN to John Hedge and Pricilla Runyon Hedge. Married Willis Leach in 1859. Five known children: Oliver (b , 1864, ) , Mary (b 1867, ), James H (b 1868), Alonzo “Lon” (b 1870, ) and Lillian B (b 1876, ). Dates (except for Lillian) are from 1870 census; all are Jackson Twp, Boone County. By 1880, Willis Leach is remarried, Mary (age 14) is working as a servant, and Lillian B is being “fostered” by a Shelly family in Boone county. Alonzo appears to be living in Center Twp with a Leet family. James and Oliver are “missing” so far… Theory is that Isabel died and children were farmed out to various families in the county.

Searching for the burial place of
    Lulu Shapley Sutphin b. 1883 – d. 1911
Daughter of James Shapley and Eliza Whittem
1st wife of Austin E. Sutphin
Her death certificate says buried in Mt Vision or a Mt Unison in Boone Indiana. I have found no such cemetery. I am in Virginia and have hopes someone local may have an idea if there was ever a cemetery in the Boone area by that name .
    My Thanks in advance.

  4. I am researching Samuel Moore who is found in the Boone County Census of 1850 and 1860. He was born 1790 near Fayetteville, Kentucky, and was probably buried in southeast Kearney County, Nebraska in 1886 where his funeral was held in the nearby schoolhouse. Samuel was a veteran of the War of 1812 and he applied for his pension at the Kearney County courthouse in Minden, Nebraska. I would be interested in the Moore family members who are buried in Boone County probably near Mooresville. My goal is to find where this early veteran of our county is buried.

  5. I am trying to locate the gravesite of my great-great grandfather, Sidney Turner. His land is listed the 1878 Farmer’s Landowners for Boone County. His farm looks like it was in Marion Township of Boone County, Township 19 and Range 2 East. I believe his wife, Catherine, died around 1879. Sidney was listed in the 1880 census for Boone County, but I believe he died shortly afterwards, maybe 1881. I have searched the cemeteries listed for Boone Count and part of Clinton County. I have not found anything for him or his wife, and I haven’t found any death certificate information. Does anyone know if there are burial sites located on farms in this area?

I am interested in any and all records related to one George Henry Johnston and his brother Daniel Johnston. Time period would be 1830 to 1870.
